May has been recognized as Bike to Work Month since 1956 through the League of American Bicyclists.
Bannock Planning Organization, the transportation planning agency for the Portneuf Valley is planning activities to educate the community that bicycles are a beneficial mode of transportation.
By arranging these activities, BPO plans to make bicycle information available, encourage people to try bicycle commuting, promote safety and increase the general publics awareness and respect for bicycle riders.
Spring is in the air and it is time to dust off those bikes and ride to work! May is Bike to Work Month with May 11-15 as Bike to Work Week and Bike to Work Day is May 15, 2009.
